Songbook is an extra bonus and contains very humorous songs. Item was found significantly cheaper at a major department store chain starting with "W". We passed it around at a Christmas gift openeing party and even those who are shy became uninhibited when using it. The Elf button raises your pitch to the elf octaves and is quite entertaining. The pre-recorded songs are good fun songs to sing and they sound good. You have to hold the microphone at just the right distance to prevent distortion and get the right volume level. It was a hit. The kids and the grown-ups all had a great time talking and singing like an elf!
